Discovering the fascinating secrets of historic instruments and the individual ideas of the master craftsman who built them requires meticulous research and careful documentation. This is the only way to properly respect an organ’s historic substance.

Every restoration must also conserve and protect the organ’s existing substance. I perform all conservation measures and repairs in accordance with restoration standards, using methods that take into account and prepare for any subsequent restoration. Here too, I provide detailed documentation of all work done as a matter of course.

A fundamental prerequisite for reviving an instrument’s unique timbre is extensive experience with the historic intonation principles of past eras.
